Pause for Coretta Scott King...Dead at 78

Today we lost a strong woman who stood for her beliefs and continued to fight for Martin Luther King Jr's dream long after his death. Maya Angelou called into GMA this morning to talk about her "sister friend" Coretta Scott King. I was impressed to learn that she was a talented musician, violin and vocals, who put her music career on hold to lead the struggle with her husband MLK, Jr. In fact, they said that Martin wanted to just talk and preach about the struggle while Coretta was the main one saying... "Let's march! Let's hit the road.." She was a major force in Selma, Ala. And the last thing that struck me was that Maya said Coretta was very much in love with Martin. She said that Martin was assassinated on her (Maya's) birthday and that she speaks to Coretta every year on that day and that Coretta's voice softens and drops in tone every time she speaks Martin's name. Wow! That's love. She never remarried.. and for all who believe (and you jerks who don't) let's pray that there's an afterlife and a heaven and that these two souls are together again.
