Kramer's not a racist

At last, some inspiration. Michael Richards, the man who played Kramer on "Seinfeld" has gone on the record to let everyone know that he's not a racist. I guess he just plays one on stage when people heckle him. Here's what's funny, you fearlessly call a black man a nigger on stage, but you're afraid of being labeled a racist. Luckily, for him, this guy has nothing to lose other than his stand-up money. Maybe he can open for the Prussian Blue sisters on their tour? The comedy club had him back the next night, but now they've banned him from performing.

Peep how many people were still laughing during his rant...

Also, this is a real world example of how "cracker" just doesn't hold the bite that the n-bomb does even in this day and age when many dreamers would believe racism doesn't exist. Someone tried to fight back and cracker was the strongest word they had.. Crackers are great with soup and tuna salad..How can that be half as offensive as nigger?

Some people say he just did that to stir up controversy and make headlines, but if that's the case, why didn't he own up to that when he made his statment? Why didn't he say, man I was just joking.

Man...if Seinfeld didn't make him famous, I'd hate to hear his views on Jews.

wow

I had heard about this all day yesterday but never looked at the vid...just read the transcript

he yelled nigger at the top of his lungs like 8 times

On one hand he did seem like he just took a joke too far...but on the other hand he is a grown ass man and an entertainer and HAS to know that aint whats hot in the streets when you performing in front of a multicultural crowd...

I hate to see stuff like this happen...but like you said...this serves a great reminder when people want to start that "racism is dead" talk...b/c if his non-important ass thinks it...think bout who w/power thinks it

yeah.. i agree that some things sounded like a joke, "That's what happens when you interrupt a White man," or whatever he said. That's something you can shrug off. But when you hear his tone you can tell he was upset. And on Regis & Kelly this morning Regis was saying that Jerry had once told him how sensitive Kramer is about his shit. Like he'd practice busting through the door over and over and still never be satisfied.
So Regis believes that he was just enraged by the heckler... which means, he wasn't really joking. He was trying to hurt that dude's feelings.

Some white people will struggle with the P.C. term for a black person but this dude was slurring it up like he was richard pryor. It rolled off his tongue like it was nothing.

And it's not just the nigger part, his initial response was to the dude's race. It was like, YOU, of all people need not heckle me. It's like he saw his race as a weakness he could exploit, much like he would a fat person's weight. Let's say he's not a racist, how many black folks would feel welcomed at his shows now?

let's just say that he is a racist. he didn't just use the word. he said, "50 years ago we would have had you upside down with a fucking fork up your ass".

let's also say he's a cannibal and a sodomist.

I'm lost on the whole "50 years ago... ...fork up your ass" part. Ummm... was there some period toward the end of the Civil Rights Movement that I've never heard about? Some weird couple of years where the Klan ran out of ideas and resorted to sticking forks in asses? And why upside-down? I.. am.. confused!

yes, i kinda overlooked the fork comment.. not the cruelty in it, but the specifics of it. Sticking objects in the bottom is a true form of disrespect and torture, I think that's all you can really take away from that. It reminded me of Abner Louima and his run in with the NYPD. Nothing funny about that.

All that matters is that he was saying "we" like a few years back there would be no laws stopping white me from draggin a black heckler outside. And all of the laughing people would have helped.. 50 years ago. Ah, the good old days.

On one Web site someone talked about the fact that this happened in Cali. Like Cali is more racist than the South.. How would this have played out in the South?

The Klan ran out of ideas a long time ago, that's when they turned to politics.
